The invention relates to a method for rehabilitating a ballast bed of a track, wherein - a first, reusable bedding layer is taken up and fed to a cleaning, while parallel to it by a subsequent second clearing device to create a Erdplanums - a lower bedding layer adjoining the upper bedding layer is taken up and disposed of, with gravel arising during the cleaning being recycled as a gravel layer dropped onto the ground planum.
According to EP 2 025 810 it is known to include a top layer of the ballast bed for recycling. The resulting during the cleaning gravel is dropped on the remaining ballast bed and added by a subsequent second clearing device together with reusable gravel. The object of the present invention is now to provide a method of the type mentioned, with the reusable gravel can be recovered from the ballast bed efficiently in the course of a ballast cleaning.
