Austrian patentsmt AT 13 543 Ul 2014-03-15 Description: The present utility model relates to a tool carrier for tile cutters, and more particularly to a tool carrier provided with a tiling wheel. Manual tile cutting machines are known to consist of a base plate to which a rail or a pair of rails are integrally formed, on which a tool-carrying element is slidably mounted, which is provided with an engraving wheel, which can be steered by the user by hand. The tiles rest on the base and the engraving tool slides along the tiles applying pressure, with the user pressing on the tool carrier. The applicant has found that the lubrication of the engraving wheel, which is to engrave the top of the tile under pressure, is extremely critical to the success of tile cutting. In fact, if the engraving wheel does not roll smoothly and without error along the tile plane, it will perform microcracks that interrupt the continuity of microgravity. These breaks then provide trigger points for lateral fracturing, as they interrupt the linear load distribution in the tile during the application of the crushing pressure, thus allowing the fracture to propagate along bias lines different from the theoretical bias lines defined by the cutter were differentiated. However, the lubrication of the engraving wheel is not only anything but easy, because the wheel is hidden under the tool carrier, but it is in the face of the usual working conditions under which tile cutter are used - namely heavily loaded with dust and sand construction sites - also a process as laborious as it is critical. The object of the present invention is therefore to offer an effective solution to this problem. This object is achieved by means of a tile cutter, which is described in its essential features in the attached main claim. Other inventive aspects of the tool carrier are described in the dependent claims. In any event, further features and advantages of the device according to the invention will become more apparent from the detailed description which is given by way of illustration and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a perspective, broken view of a manual 2-bar tile cutter with a tool carrier according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of the tool carrier of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a tile cutter similar to that of Fig. 1 with an alternative tank; Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a 1-bar tile cutter with a tool carrier according to the invention; Fig. 4A is an enlarged view of the detail marked with a circle A in Fig. 4; Fig. 5 is a side elevational view of the apparatus shown in Fig. 4; and Fig. 6 is an enlarged partial sectional view taken along the line VI-VI of Fig. 5. Fig. 1 shows a manual tile cutting device of the known 2-bar. From a base 1, two pairs of end posts M (of Figs [0009] [0011] [0016] [0016] [0016] Type. 1/9 Austrian Patent Office AT13 543U1 2014-03-15 Pair is shown in Fig. 1), between which extend two parallel rods 2 and 3, which are adapted to act as sliding guides of a tool carrier 4. The general design of Werkzeugträgerglitsystems will not be described here in more detail, because it is known to the relevant expert skilled in the art. The tool carrier 4 consists in a conventional manner of an oscillating body from which a handle 5 protrudes upward, and a holding means of an engraving tool 6, which protrudes downward. The engraving tool usually consists of a wheel 6a, which consists of a hard material, for example tungsten carbide, and depending on the tile material to be engraved has a more or less sharp, circular peripheral edge. The wheel 6a is freely rotatably mounted on a small rod or a small shaft 6b, which extends transversely to the feed direction of the tool carrier 4. According to the invention, to the holding means 6 of the tool 6a, a liquid lubricant supply channel 7, such as VD40, is arranged, which ends down next to a felt 8 which rests above the peripheral edge of wheel 6a and is glued , Furthermore, the supply channel 7 extends according to the invention in a lubricant reservoir tank 9, which is suitably arranged on the tool carrier 4, that he does not hinder its function. In the version shown in Figures 1 and 2, the supply channel 7 is formed inside a support rod of the engraving tool 6a. An outlet pipette 9a of the replaceable lubricant tank 9 is engaged with the upper end of channel 7. The tank is formed as a small flexible plastic box, which is housed above the tool carrier (Fig. 1) and this precisely by the engagement of the pipette 9a with a housing channel, which is formed in the tool carrier body, engages. In particular, the housing channel of pipette 9a may be formed as the upper portion of the passageway with which the same rod 6 supporting the wheel 6a is engaged in the lower portion. If the tank 9 is empty, it is sufficient to remove it from the tool carrier to take the pipette 9a from its housing and then set up a new tank. In order to avoid that too much lubricant runs on the felt 8, in this arrangement, the supply channel 7 is formed capillary-shaped or with a suitable constriction. Further, due to the flexibility of the plastic container, if necessary, it is possible to gently press with a finger on the upper part to obtain a slight pumping action, whereby the lubricating oil is pushed out to the felt 8. An equivalent variant of this solution is shown in FIG. In this case, the lubricant tank 90 is formed as a rigid receiving container with controlled release of lubricant. It is filled with a suitable gas and is provided with a set screw 90a, with which the user can increase or decrease the drop of the lubricant to the felt. Figures 4-6 show a further variant, which is specially provided for a tool carrier, which is to slide on a single rod. In this case, a tool carrier P has a fairly limited cross-sectional dimension, and through it extends longitudinally a flat and thin slide bar B. The tool carrier P thus defines a pair of flanks disposed on both sides of the bar B. On one of the two flanks of the tool carrier P, a flexible tank 900 is attached with lubricant, which takes up a large part of the flank surface and is thin, for example 3-5 mm. The tank thus has substantially a bag shape and may advantageously be made of a flexible, transparent plastic material to keep track of the level of the lubricant and possibly on the basis of scale marks that are drawn to the tank or engraved in the tank to follow. 2/9 Austrian Patent Office AT13 543U1 2014-03-15 The tank 900 is configured so that it can be removed. For example, it is attached to the flank of the tool carrier P by means of a removable adhesive. In the lower portion of tank 900, as seen in the enlarged view of Fig. 6, a connecting tube 700 is arranged, which engages a hole 701 transversely to the tool carrier, d. H. substantially along the axis of the shaft 600b of wheel 600a. The hole 701 leads inside to a small cavity above the wheel 600a, where a felt 800 is in contact with the upper edge of the wheel. The diameter of the hole 701 is sufficiently small, for example, 1.5 mm, to act as a capillary or constriction for the lubricant supply channel 700 from the tank 900 to the felt 800. As a result, the lubricant flows in minimal amounts to the felt 800 (which also depends on the density of the lubricant). If the lubrication rate needs to be increased, it is sufficient if the user first presses on the tank 900 to produce a slight pumping action, which causes the outflow of a larger amount of lubricating oil in the direction of the tool. As can be seen from the above description, it is possible thanks to the particular arrangement, which is advantageously integrated in the tool carrier, to guarantee a correct lubrication of the engraving wheel, whereby it is always kept clean, so that a continuous cut is effected and an irregular breaking of the tiles is avoided. Thanks to the mounted on the tool carrier tanks and the felt for receiving and distributing the lubricant creates a very effective and easy-to-use tool carrier. More specifically, the felt has a dual function: on the one hand it blocks the supply channel and thus expediently limits the supply of lubricant, and on the other hand it distributes the lubricant to the cutting edge of wheel 6a; and by adhering to it, at the same time, it always keeps the wheel free of dust and other debris that would otherwise inevitably adhere to the wheel and dry it, thereby impairing its function. The adjustable and perfectly integrated tank does not hinder the normal cutting function and at the same time makes it extremely easy to change the lubricant dosage. This type of lubrication is thus very convenient for the user who does not have to resort to other, cumbersome means, and also ensures a longer life of the tool. And finally, the tank is removable, so that it can be easily replaced with a similar inexpensive element. It is understood, however, that the protection of the invention described above is not limited to the specific embodiments shown, but also extends to other designs that meet the same benefit. For example, the felt, regardless of its name, consist of a classic wool felt, but also of synthetic materials and fabrics, rock wool or other soft and sponge-like materials that are nevertheless sufficiently resistant to abrasion by the engraving wheel. 3.9
